The Way We “Facebook”....

Everyone knows how to share content (at least some part of it) through Facebook, but it seems that there is more to it than only pictures and YouTube links. Two online apps, Pipe and Dropify, are dedicated to the social interaction, and the experts believe they can change the way we use Facebook.

The first app, Pipe, isn’t released yet. This will be an app to allow Facebook users to share or send files of any kind, including audio, video and pictures, of up to 1GB in size. The developers explain that the transfer will be real-time and protected.

The second app, Dropify, was launched in Cologne a couple years ago by Mike Lieser, Alex Heilmann, and Chris Striepecke. It helped Facebook users upload and explore files, including .pdf and .doc, along with music and video content, archives, etc. The developers of the app say that Dropify is regarded as a fun way for users to publish and discover free files. The matter is that traditional file downloads feature very limited visibility, while their app allows users to share the download activity with their friends on their timeline and news feed. Taking into account that there are over one billion users on Facebook each month, one can realize that this will result in major coverage. As a result, people will discover new musicians, brands, and other content creators they haven’t known before.

Dropify is also compatible with mobile devices and has drag-and-drop capabilities, as well as embedding, monitoring, and so on. In addition, Dropify helps developers and artists to get noticed by creating an activity feed whenever their content is downloaded, which makes the links go viral on the social network. The app is free, but you can also choose a subscription for $9 to $99 per month in order to enjoy its extra features..
