Some people use Facebook as the primary mode of archiving their personal data. This can be dangerous because there are instances where people are hacked or banned from Facebook. Step 1. Open the Account Settings menu.

Click Download a copy of your Facebook data.
Step 3. Choose Start My Archive.
Step 4. You should received a security message indicating that the archiving process has started.
