Chad Hurley, one of YouTube
co-founders, was noticed discussing his plans for the future during the South
by Southwest festival last weekend. Surprisingly enough, his plans appeared to
include the launching of a video network similar to Facebook.
The entire operation will take place in a former aircraft hangar that has been
transformed into a 41,000-square foot studio. In this studio, everyone can put
their minds to work, partner and use the high-end equipment. Moreover, the
streaming service considers modifying the comment section on order to enable
quite a professional take on the way people rate and feedback the uploaded
material. Actually, the idea of making money from video material is not new to
the business mind. For instance, Autodesk bought quite a popular mobile video
service called SocialCam for $60 million.
